We live in a great age for rock music because Wet Leg is hopefully just beginning their career. The band's second album will be released on July 11 and will be called Moisturizer. One single ("Catch These Fists") had already been released, but now we have a second, along with a new video.
The video for the song "CPR" is self-shot by the band and is a single take. This might mean that you should expect some amateurish stuff, but far from it. The band might have filmed it, but they clearly got some input from those who know how to create such excellence.
The graphic near the beginning is properly slightly blurry because the video seems like something out of the late 1960s, though the song does not. One does have to wonder how many takes it took for the project to come out just right, though, because the band had to ask themselves, "Are we taking this drive again?"
Wet Leg's second single from the new album is addictively fun
The video was shot on the band's native Isle of Wight, so the landscape is pretty and foreboding at the same time. Kind of like Wet Leg's music.
The song itself has a blustery production, but is no doubt a classic model of modern alternative rock music. The bass is big enough, the beat is simple but propels the tune forward, and the lyrics are perfectly sing-along worthy. In other words, it's another great Wet Leg track.
The band is doing a tour in support of the new album, beginning in the UK and Europe. They have also announced North American dates beginning in September. They are as follows:
