Noel Gallagher's ex drops why she left Oasis concert (and it makes total sense)

She had to go.

At some point, famous people just have to roll their eyes at social media (and some other media) hate, and sigh, and exclaim, "Good grief." The most recent celebrity to have to do this is Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher's ex-wife Meg Mathews.

Mathews had gone to see Oasis on the opening night of their first tour since 2009 in Cardiff, Wales, and she posted on social media that she was having a great time. The issue occurred during the encore, and specifically during the band's performance of "Wonderwall," she left.

Was she upset that the group was playing a song that was most likely written about her? The weird part is that many skeptics on social media platforms have put forth this theory. The issue is that the track is not one about an ugly breakup. It's a relatively lovely song lyrically.

Meg Mathews forced to explain why she left Oasis concert early

A better theory would have been that Mathews had heard the song, just like everyone else, a million times before. In fact, this might be closer to the truth.

Unfortunately, like many celebs feel forced to do, she posted on her Instagram page explaining why she left when she did, as so many people were discussing it. Oddly, it is a modern problem she is having. 30 years ago, when "Wonderwall" was released, no one took smartphones to concerts, so the only people who would have known Mathews left before the end would be the people at the show.

Mathews said she left for the same reason the rest of humanity sometimes leaves before the end of concerts or games: She wanted to beat the traffic.

Mathews wrote on Instagram that she "loved every minute" of the show, but added, "And to all the F**king papers I left before the encore as I have left many a stadium at the end and it’s carnage... But yes I could hear Wonderwall as I walked to my car! Happy now(?)"

That last part is an important one. Even if Mathews was so upset about the song being performed when everyone there knew it was going to be played (so all the hate being thrown at Mathews is ridiculous), she would have heard it as she was leaving anyway.

Most of the time, it's best just to let celebrities be what they truly are: Human. It isn't like Mathews hadn't heard all the songs before anyway.
