Damian Lillard wanted out of Portland for some time. He was a fantastic player for the Portland Trailblazers, but the organization didn't seem to do a whole lot to help the team get better. This is odd as the Trailblazers have been owned by the Paul Allen Trust and the Trust also owns the Seattle Seahawks and the Seahawks don't struggle with spending money. But back to Lillard, aka Dame D.O.L.L.A., he's likely in a better place mentally and physically now.

Lillard was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. The Bucks are one of the best teams in the NBA, and the Bucks just won the NBA championship in 2021. Teaming Lillard with global megastar Giannis Antetokounmpo could make the Bucks the favorites to win the championship again in the upcoming season.

But Lillard is much more than a basketball player. He also has a decently successful career as a rapper whose nom de plume is Dame D.O.L.L.A. Dame D.O.L.L.A. has released several albums, including The Letter O in 2016 which charted on the Billboard 200. So Lillard knowing he was likely going to get traded, had a track ready to go once the trade went through.

Dame D.O.L.L.A. (otherwise known as Damian Lillard) drops a new track

The song in question is called, rightfully so, "Farewell." Heck, Dame D.O.L.L.A. might have written and recorded the tune just hours after the Trailblazers chose Scoot Henderson with the third pick in the 2023 NBA draft. Dame D.O.L.L.A. knew the proverbial writing was on the wall and his career in Portland was coming to an end.

This is reflected in the lyrics to "Farewell" as he speaks directly to Trailblazers fans by saying, "In the future, man, I hope we greet with hugs and kisses
/But you should know that they the ones who chose another mission
/They fishin’"

The song is fairly basic, but not bad. Better production would have improved the track. But if you are a Trailblazers fan, Dame D.O.L.L.A. isn't mad at you, just upset with the organization.
