Kim Kardashian still owes Taylor Swift a real apology
By Lee Vowell
If you are of a certain age, you might remember Kanye West doing a silly Kanye West-type thing when he jumped on the stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards after Taylor Swift had won the award for Best Female Music Video and West claimed the rightful winner should be Beyoncé. We have learned over the years how classless West can be. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift appears to exude class.
Flash-forward to 2016 when West reportedly called Swift to ask if he could use her name in a new song called "Famous." Only, the way the lyrics were going to framed around Swift went, "might still have sex" with Swift as West "made that b***h famous."
Again, West is a silly person and he appears to be referencing when he jumped on the stage when Swift was accepting an award. One would assume Swift was already fairly famous before the 2009 incident because Swift had won an MTV award.
Taylor Swift talks Kim Kardashian issue in recent Time Magazine interview
But Swift says she never gave West permission to use her name. This is where attention-needy Kim Kardashian comes in. Kardashian and West were married at the time of the 2016 phone call to Swift. Kardashian apparently recorded the phone conversation, which is illegal if both parties are not aware the call is being recorded, and then, according to Swift, Kardashian edited the call to make it seem as if Swift said West could use her name.
The question is seven years after the phone call was made, who are you going to believe about the call being recorded and Swift giving permission to West? Taylor Swift or Kim Kardashian? Kardashian came to fame because she came from a wealthy family and used that to be on reality TV shows. Taylor Swift, on the other hand, worked her way up in the music world because she, as possibly opposed to Kardashian, has talent.
Kim Kardashian, even though she is no longer with Kayne West, has never apologized to Taylor Swift for the 2016 fiasco. The aftermath of which, according to what Swift told Time Magazine during a conversation about her being the magazine's 2023 Person of the Year, caused Swift to leave the United States to get away from all of the negativity and Swift began to greatly distrust people.
Swift told Time, "You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar."
So, please, Ms. Kardashian. Admit your likely mistake and apologize. Otherwise, Swifties are going to be really peeved at you for the rest of eternity.
