By StevieMac
Lewis Capaldi has been struggling with his health for some time now. It does seem there is promising news on that front. Capaldi issued a statement at the year's end and talked positively about an improvement healthwise.
His health problems came to a head after a difficult Glastonbury performance in the summer. He struggled on stage at times with his Tourettes syndrome and anxiety. Emotional scenes saw the huge crowd help him through his set.
Following Glastonbury, Capaldi announced he would be taking a break and postponed his future tour. Six months later Capaldi has now updated his fans. He’s explained about the professional help he has been receiving and confirmed that he has seen an improvement in his health.
"I'm currently taking some time off to focus on my health and wellbeing and it's been going great! I've been working with some incredible professionals to help me learn about and cope better with my Tourette's and anxiety issues. I'm really happy to say I've noticed a marked improvement in both since I decided to take some time off back in June."
Five new Lewis Capaldi songs out now
Fans will be pleased by his update. They are also delighted by more news that Lewis Capaldi has shared. He has now released an extended version of his second album Broken By Desire. He’s added five new songs to the album, stating that he was very keen fans should hear them.
Capaldi’s statement was full of his usual good humour and straight, honest, down-to-earth talking. That supported his improving health view. He is also happily out and about meeting the public again with recent outings in Glasgow to see Boy George on stage in a Peter Pan adventure. Capaldi was also in the huge football crowd to see his team Celtic win against rivals Rangers. The singer was in good spirits and posing for fan photos at both events.
Looking ahead though Capaldi is taking a sensible and cautious approach. He may have new songs out and be happy meeting the public, but he’s not yet ready to go back on stage. He confirmed his time out would continue until he is fully recovered before he starts his tour dates again. Another positive note was his thoughts that he may use some time to write new music.
