Ranking all of Queen's studio albums from worst to best selling

1 - Made In Heaven - 20 million
Queen’s top-selling studio album was their fifteenth and final such release from 1995. Over 20 million copies put it comfortably ahead in first place. I doubt many Queen fans would label it as their best album though. The circumstances which sat behind the album and the timing were highly influential in creating the enormous demand for Made In Heaven.
It was released four years after Mercury’s death after much work by May, Taylor, and Deacon. They used a variety of original vocal and piano recordings made by Mercury on his own solo work and for Queen. They worked those through to the final versions on the record. Reworking and writing songs to accompany Mercury’s material and recording their music and vocals to match.
A final album featuring the irrepressible and irreplaceable Mercury was always going to be a must-buy for fans. Made In Heaven and its songs seem to have added meaning behind them. They also include Mercury’s final ever vocals recorded on “Mother Love” to add even more poignancy to that. Inevitably that all combined to make this such a massive seller. The top tracks are “Heaven For Everyone” (Taylor) and “Too Much Love Will Kill You” (May along with Frank Museker and Elizabeth Lamers).
In some versions released, there is a final untitled track on the album. It’s an unusual one for the band, but this is a unique record. At over 22 minutes long it features an ethereal tone and sound intermingled with clips of Mercury along the way. It does fit well with the story and situation behind the album.
