Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2024 induction ceremony: Everything you need to know

Say what you will about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they at least try to have a little fun. Induct Dolly Parton when even she is surprised by that? Sure. Again, why not?

The museum also has lately brought people to the city of Cleveland, Ohio, for the induction ceremonies they hold each year. This is true whether people want to go to Cleveland or not. (In all fairness, I have lived there, and it's so much cleaner than it was in previous decades, so go.)

But what about the 2024 Rock Hall ceremony? How can you watch it? Who is being inducted? This is what you need to know.

When and where is the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony?

The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 19. The ceremony is supposed to begin about 6:30 pm ET, but let's be real. This is rock and roll! If the Hall of Fame starts right on time, that makes them a bit less dangerous and, well...the antithesis of rock.

The ceremony will be held at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. If you really want to go (and have tickets), the address is 1 Center Court, Cleveland, OH 44115. This is a different location from the museum itself which is just a short walk away.

Who is being inducted?

Eight musical artists are being inducted in 2024 under the Performer Category. This includes Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Ozzy Osbourne, and A Tribe Called Quest.

Being inducted under the Musical Excellence category (one would assume every inductee fits the "musical excellence" category, though, right?) are Jimmy Buffet, MC5, Dionne Warwick, and Norman Whitfield. MC5 has a new album due out on October 18. Sadly, the Rock Hall sometimes doesn't include performers in this category until they no longer walk among us.

Who are the presenters and performers?

2024 is a huge year for the Rock Hall as there are lots of people involved. Just look at this presenters and performers list: Busta Rhymes, Dr. Dre, Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa, Ella Mai, James Taylor, Jelly Roll, Julia Roberts, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Lucky Daye, Mac McAnally, Method Man, Roger Daltrey, Sammy Hagar, Slash, and The Root. Some of those people aren't bad.

But let's be honest, Jelly Roll seems to be showing up everywhere currently. He seems like a nice guy, but too much is too much.

How can I watch the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony?

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame does things a bit oddly when it comes to watching the ceremony. Or maybe it's not the museum but Disney. Maybe that six-letter company wants to rake in as much money as possible from people being inducted.

If you want to watch the ceremony live, you will need to do that on Disney+. If you don't care to wait, ABC will recast the ceremony on January 1, 2025, from 8 pm to 11 pm ET. Maybe just watch both.
