The Rolling Stones are releasing their new album, Foreign Tongues, on July 10. Along with that, they will be delivering five editions of vinyl that would be a dream for Marvel Comics fans. Would one want five different editions of the same Stones album? Maybe in this case.
According to the band's social media platforms, the Marvel vinyls will each feature a superhero. The list includes Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Thore, and the Hulk. Along with the cover, a special edition comic will be inside the packaging from the last Thor series.
Unless there is a change before release, the vinyl itself is deep red, on the back is the name of the band along with the tracklist, and the cover is one of the five superheroes. One can pre-order the set exclusively on Complex Music until Saturday, June 12, when the editions will become available on the official Rolling Stones site.
New Rolling Stones album will have a Marvel connection
The risk in waiting could be that once the limited edition vinyls run out, you might be out of luck if you really want one. The number available was not readily announced.

Two songs from Foreign Tongues have been released so far. The first, "Rough and Twisted," was dropped under a pseudonym, the Cockroaches. The Stones have used that name for secret live shows for many years.
The second single was "In the Stars." Both are fairly straightforward rockers and solid. The songs definitely don't rank among the band's best ever, but that would be asking a lot. All fans want from any new Rolling Stones album is just quality work.
As far as those on social media who claim the band might be "selling out" by having a Marvel collaboration, that's a bit of a stretch. Mick Jaggar, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood definitely have more money already than they ever need. Perhaps the connection with the comic book company is simply to raise their Q rating among a younger audience.
The new album is the Rolling Stones' 25th studio record. Besides the Marvel covers on some editions of the vinyl, the band invited some excellent artists to join them during the recording process. Some involved include Robert Smith of the Cure, Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The album was completed at Metropolis Studios in London and was produced by the very busy Andrew Wyatt. The record will also include a cover of Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good."
