Rush hasn't played shows in 11 years, and after the death of drummer Neil Peart, the remaining two members, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, decided they wouldn't continue to be a band. Things have changed.
As fans of the group have known since last year, Rush will start a fairly expansive run of shows called the Fifty Something reunion tour in June. The positive part is that the tour keeps getting bigger. Fall dates were added, and now a host of 2027 shows have been added.
The new dates will begin in January, after the band takes a month-long break, in South America. Rush will then traverse the Atlantic and play in Europe from February until early April. Let's hope the tour is made into a concert film because it would be epic.
Rush expand 2026 tour dates into 2027: Here's what you need to know
Peart died in 2020 from glioblastoma, and he will be replaced on the tour by Anika Nilles. Snippets of her playing have been fantastic, and she should be a great fit with Lee and Lifeson. The group will be joined by keyboardist Loren Gold.
For each concert, Rush will play two sets that cover the band's long history. No openers are expected, as is usual for the band.
