Go see Bruce Springsteen in concert but don't ask him for a Budweiser

And don't deliver one.

Bruce Springsteen is a relatively healthy 75-year-old man. He keeps himself active playing long concerts and eating well. There is one certain beverage he seemingly does not want available to him, however.

According to an article from The Take Out, Springsteen does not want Budweiser on his list of available drinks. Why? Who knows? We can assume that the liberal-leaning guy from New Jersey doesn't have any qualms with Budweiser's politics.

There was a right-wing pushback against the beer company after a trans person was in a commercial for Bud Light a few years ago. That was enough for Kid Rock to pretend to shoot a gun at some Bud Light beer cans. (In the video, Kid Rock shoots a gun, but the bullets hitting the cans are coming from his right.)

Bruce Springsteen doesn't want a Budweiser, thank you very much

Of course, no one ever argued that Kid Rock had much integrity. He doesn't. Bruce Springsteen, though, has always been a lot more honest musician (and a far better one). His songs and views matter.

But why doesn't he like Budweiser? Maybe, it's simply the taste. Bud can sell a bunch of cans, but very few people go into a bar in search of Budweiser. If it's the only thing available, sure, but only as a last recourse.

Also, to be fair to Budweiser, maybe Springsteen just doesn't drink much. The food he requests from food services might imply that.

The icon wants chicken soup with heavy broth before a show, which, as any singer might know, chicken soup is not only great for the soul, but excellent for the vocal cords as well. Bruce Springsteen has to sing for four hours, so keeping his voice healthy is of utmost importance.

After a concert, the Boss appears to keep up the healthy habit. He eats two bags of Rold Gold pretzels and 16 pieces of cold shrimp with "homemade seafood sauce." The salt from the pretzels probably helps his voice recover. The shrimp might simply be for personal enjoyment.

Still, that's a lot of shrimp, especially if one is eating it every few days. At least, compared to other seafood, shrimp is fairly low in mercury levels.
