Taylor Swift won't be at Madison Square Garden to watch the New York Knicks play the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, most likely, but she will be at the venue for something much more personally important. According to TMZ, that is where the wedding of Swift and Travis Kelce will be held.

The date is July 3, and between 1,100 and 1,200 people will get to witness the wedding. If you haven't received a text to be there, you are seemingly out of luck. That is how many people are getting their invites.

While some might see the Swift and Kelce location as a media grab, the truth is far from that. MSG offers a venue without windows that the media can poke their cameras through, meaning that if one wants to get photos, one had better be among the invited.

As for security, the New York police department will be somewhat involved due to the venue, and likely the crowd that will surround Madison Square Garden, and at least one private security firm will play the lead.

Those going to the event to see the pop queen and Kansas City Chiefs tight end get hitched will be able to park underground at MSG, so they won't be accosted by fans and paparazzi, either. In other words, Madison Square Garden, home to the New York Knicks and New York Rangers, is exactly the kind of venue that the wedding needs.

Taylor Swift won't be the first famous musician to celebrate her nuptials at MSG. In 1974, Sly Stone, of course, Sly and the Family Stone, married Kathy Silva at the venue, and 23,000 people attended. Tickets were also sold to the event, and that isn't the case with Swift and Kelce.

What fans will also hope isn't the case with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce is that their marriage ends so soon after they are married. Stone and Silva separated five months after the wedding, and Silva filed for divorce in 1976.

From the outside, Swift and Kelce seem quite happy and have already been together longer than the marriage lasted for Sly Stone. That implies good things for the soon-to-be-betrothed couple well into the future. Swifties are certainly hoping for the best for their favorite pop star. Most just won't be able to attend the July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden.
