The Super Bowl was rough for both Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs were blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in a game where the final score was closer than the game truly was. Prior to the game, Swift was shown on screen and booed loudly by the crowd at the New Orleans SuperDome.

Kelce did not have his best game. In the first half, while the Eagles were taking control of the game, the tight end had no catches and, therefore, no impact on the eventual outcome of the game. He is 35 years old, has played 12 years in the NFL, and has certainly made enough money in his career to retire if he wanted to.

The Chiefs had given Kelce a deadline of March 14 to decide if he would play next year or not. For Swifties, Kelce's decision would obviously impact whether we see Swift at Chiefs games or not. She has become a very familiar face on television broadcasts as she cheers on her boyfriend.

Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce not retiring should make Taylor Swift fans happy

There is good news if you like tuning into Chiefs games and seeing Taylor Swift. Kelce texted into the Pat McAfee Show that he would be returning for a 13th season. As there are no tour dates currently scheduled for Swift, this means that she should, in theory, be able to show up at lots of Kansas City football games.

Kelce told McAfee, "I’m coming back, for sure. Gonna try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop. Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!"

Swift appears to be set to have a quiet year. There is no announcement for a new album and no expected live shows. This could change, of course, because a musical artist needs to stay somewhat relevant so that fans do not move on to other performers. Swift is only 35 years old and has a long career ahead of her. She isn't likely to slow down any time soon.

Still, while we do not know if she is currently working on a new album, we can be assured that she will be watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Travis Kelce play in person. Heck, maybe her being shown on millions of TV screens each football season helps her stay relevant.
