Taylor Swift fans might be stunned to read amount of donations ahead of wedding

To whom much is given?

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce do not appear on the verge of a fake-out in terms of where they are getting married. The location is almost certainly Madison Square Garden in New York City. If there was any doubt (and there was), the money they have given to local charities likely dismisses that.

According to Variety, Kelce and Swift have donated to "more than 20 charities" ahead of July 4, the possible wedding date for the couple, which could also be July 3, and the total amount is more than $26 million. While many of the foundations are national, many are local to NYC, further implying the venue of the wedding.

To be sure, no matter where the charities are located, the fact that the soon-to-be-betrothed has donated so much money is the most important part. If all of the charities were in Seattle, for instance, and the wedding were held in New York, good work would still have been done, and the money would allow that to continue.

As far as the New York City-area foundations that received donations, those include:

  • City Harvest
  • Food Bank
  • New York Cares
  • Education Through Music
  • Answer the Call
  • Musical Mentors
  • After-School All-Stars
  • MSK Kids (which is the pediatric cancer program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC)
  • Hassenfield Children's Hospital at NYU Langone

The national foundations include:

  • Feeding America
  • ASPCA
  • Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (which began in Tennessee)
  • Grammy in the Schools

Other local charities not affiliated with NYC:

  • Harvesters - The Community Food Network (Kansas City, Missouri)
  • The Store (Nashville, TN)
  • Helping Harvest (Reading, PA)
  • Rhode Island Community Food Bank
  • After-School All-Stars in Cleveland, Ohio
  • Children's Mercy Hospital

What most will notice is that a lot of those charities are based on where Swift and Kelce are from (Pennsylvania and Ohio), where Kelce plays football for the Kansas City Chiefs, and where Swift made her musical bones in Nashville.

One has to have an invitation to watch Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get married, of course, and those going clearly know the date. The best part is that what the couple is doing will help everyone, not just the privileged few who are attending (or the 1,000 people who are attending).

Kelce and Swift are just making a committment to each other, but they are also pledging to help the rest of humanity. If that doesn't make them special, what does?
