Taylor Swift fans know full well that their favorite artist likes to drop Easter eggs in much of what she does. Lately, she might be doing just that in front of very faces.
This week, Swift, just as she did in 2025, made an appearance at her soon-to-be husband Travis Kelce's camp for tight ends. It's called Tight End University, and players who play that position come in and learn more tools for their trade from other players and some important invitees. As part of the event, the players have a little fun.
Friends and family can be a part, too, and the nights tend to become fun events. That included a performance by Taylor Swift last year and again this year. The song that Swift performed, however, might be telling.
Taylor Swift's recent actions might imply she will be getting back to her musical roots soon
She sang "Love Story" from her 2008 Fearless album. The track could simply be an ode to Kelce, as she and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end are set to be married at Madison Square Garden, likely on July 3. Or the tune could be an indication of what Swift is currently working on and what comes next in her career.
"Love Story," you see, is a country-pop song. Is it a coincidence that the icon also recently dropped another country tune called "I Knew It, I Knew You," which was part of the Toy Story 5 film? It was tied to the cowgirl character of Jessie.
Maybe Swift, who understands how the world works and that hardly anything she does as part of a performance won't be seen by millions, simply wanted to do "Love Story" because of Kelce, and the tune fits with a Nashville-based event. After all, she also performed "Shake It Off" last year at Tight End University, and did so with country star Kane Brown.
The difference between last year and this year is that Taylor Swift sang a country song, and did so along with Lainey Wilson, a high-end country entertainer. This was soon after the country-themed tune in Toy Story 5.
This could all be a huge coincidence. But Swifties likely would not be surprised if the next album Swift released was a return to her country roots. She won't be kept in a box, after all, and doing another country album is not something she has ever said she won't do. In fact, it could be next.
