But what is it?

We are living in a Taylor Swift world. That isn't a bad thing, and things could certainly be worse. Swift World, after all, is currently filled with love, an upcoming album release, and then...something else. What exactly that last part is, we aren't too sure.

It will involve a theatrical release that is tied to the pop queen's October album release of The Life of a Showgirl. Would it be an entirely scripted film? That seems like a stretch even for someone as talented as Swift. Maybe it will be a series of videos involving every song on the new record, but going to the theater is a lot to ask when those videos will be streamed soon.

The mystery, of course, only adds to the excitement of the new record, which is the point. Yet, we also do not know the exact date when the theatrical element will happen. In other words, there is a lot of mystery about what the whole thing is.

Taylor Swift will drop a special theatrical tie-in to her new album The Life of a Showgirl

It is doubtful the release will be a concert film because two years ago, Taylor Swift gave us that with footage from her Eras Tour. A second edition of the same concept would appear to be a pure money grab, and Swift doesn't normally lower herself to such things.

The theatrical release could come as soon as the weekend of October 3 because that is when The Life of a Showgirl drops. If the film, documentary, exposé of Swift's relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, or whatever else it might be, is truly tied to the record, having the project released at the same time as the record would make sense.

Of course, October 13 for a theatrical event would make sense as well. 13 is Swift's favorite number, of course.

(Update: Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will be the theatrical release, and will take place only from October 3-5. It will feature the video for the song "The Fate of Ophelia," the first video from the album. The film will run for an hour and a half and will include exclusive interviews.)

As far as the tracklist for the new album, there are only 12 songs, but fans can expect deluxe editions to come out, too, which adds to that number. The tracklist is as follows:

  1. The Fate of Ophelia
  2. Elizabeth Taylor
  3. Opalite
  4. Father Figure
  5. Eldest Daughter
  6. Ruin the Friendship
  7. Actually Romantic
  8. Wi$h Li$t
  9. Wood
  10. Cancelled!
  11. Honey
  12. The Life of a Showgirl featuring Sabrina Carpenter

It is a good time to be a Taylor Swift fan. We just don't know how good exactly yet.
