Taylor Swift will have a new home to make major announcements on the Grammys

So long, CBS. After 54 years, the Grammy Awards will be held on a different network (well, network and streaming services) beginning in 2027. No longer will CBS executives get to smile with glee when Taylor Swift wins an award and then drops news about a new album coming out. This happened earlier this year, so CBS might be hoping something else like that happens in the next two years.
CBS has been home to the Grammys since 1973. They have done a very good job of presenting the awards and even saw an uptick in viewers this year compared to 2023 - maybe due to the popularity of Taylor Swift and that she was up for so many awards - but they could just phone it in in the next two years because they are done soon.
CBS simply got beat out in being able to view the awards by a growing colossus. That would be the Walt Disney Company. The company owns ABC, ESPN, Hulu, and Disney+, among other entities. But in 2027, the company will do a one-up on itself.
Taylor Swift could be making major announcements at the Grammy Awards on a new network soon
Not only will ABC carry the Grammys, but the network will also show the Oscars and Super Bowl LXI. Those three programs usually rank among the highest-viewed events on television. In other words, not only does Disney already have a lot of money, but in 2027 they are going to bring the mother lode of programming. Just imagine all the dollars Disney will make from advertising.
What is not yet known is if all the events will also be carried live on Hulu or Disney+. It would make sense for Disney to incorporate those streaming services into the programming as well. That would maximize their productivity. Possibly ABC and ESPN carry the Super Bowl in 2027. Maybe there will be a Manningcast involved too.
Either way, CBS is the big loser with the Grammys while viewers are the big winners. There will probably be lots of different ways to watch and stream the Grammys, Oscars, and Super Bowl.
