The 9 most addictive pop songs of 2024 that we couldn't stop playing if we tried
2024 has already given us a wave of pop tracks that are impossible to shake off. From artists pushing creative boundaries to the ones making a comeback, this year’s pop scene has something for everyone. We're talking about songs that you press repeat on without a second thought. Songs that you can listen to in the car, at the gym, or even during your morning commute.
Ready to get hooked on the hottest pop tracks of the year? From irresistible beats to catchy lyrics that won't leave your head, these nine tracks have been taking over playlists and radio waves and are simply impossible to resist!
"Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter
There are two songs on this list that I'm sure are still stuck in your head, and it's been about seven months since they were released. One of those pop tracks is "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter, which is the lead single on her sixth studio album Short n' Sweet. "I'm working late, 'cause I'm a singer." You know, it's just a lyric that runs on repeat in my head.
Carpenter herself wrote the song, along with Amy Allen, Julian Bunetta, and Steph Jones. Not only did it receive critical acclaim, but it also became a commercial success. It has even been nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at the upcoming 67th Annual Grammy Awards. Overall, it was this year's summer anthem that was not only a danceable track but also empowering.
"Nasty" by Tinashe
Tinashe is known for putting out songs that have catchy hooks, and she made sure to do the same with "Nasty." This is the other pop song that I was saying is most likely still stuck in your head to this day even though it was released way back in April. Truthfully, it's more of a R&B track, but it has pop influences. It's the lead single off of her seventh studio album, Quantum Baby, and she wrote it with Ricky Reed.
Like "Espresso," "Nasty" was a really popular song on TikTok. It blew up on the social media platform, with many users incorporating the track into viral challenges. In fact, it went on to become one of the platform's most popular songs of the summer.
”Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish is one of those artists who just never misses. She released "Birds of a Feather" back in May, and like many of her previous tracks, it became a smash hit. It was well-received by fans and has even received nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance at the upcoming 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
In addition, it's the second single from her critically acclaimed third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. While that entire album has hits, some of my personal faves besides "Birds of a Feather" are "Wildflower," "The Greatest," "Lunch," and "Blue."
”Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan
Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" has a way of sticking with you, no matter how many times you hear it. From its raw and emotional lyrics to its catchy melody, you'll never grow tired of listening to this song. It's been out since April, and I'm still listening to it like it just came out.
While I would love to see a music video for this track, I'm okay with there not being one. It doesn't look like we'll be getting one anyway, according to Chappell. It has been nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance at the upcoming 67th Annual Grammy Awards. We can't wait to see if she'll take any awards home!
