The Sphere in Las Vegas is a fantastic venue for fans of lights. The venue also knows how to put on a quality concert. The bands that have played there are mostly excellent, and the light show behind them on the massive screen augments the experience.

But musical artists might not always be fans of everything going on around them. Such is the case with Vince Gill, who has been playing with the Eagles over the last eight years. He is a good solo artist, of course, but his guitar ability has always been underrated. He is a perfect fit with the Eagles.

But playing in the Sphere? That's different for most performers, especially one who has been playing music for more than 40 years. Gill appears to be an amiable guy who understands how to interact with fans, but the Sphere's light show? That's tough.

Vince Gill delivers the real truth of playing with the Eagles at the Sphere

In a recent talk with Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett on Shiflett's podcast, Shred with Shifty, Gill explained knowing the Eagles songs or knowing the notes is not the problem. His issue is that all the lights around him can be distracting.

Gill said, "I try to ignore (the lights). I try not to watch any of the content, because it's pretty distracting. And it makes me get a little bit wobbly. Things are moving and tilting, and it's pretty neat."

That might be one of the best pure descriptions of playing in the Sphere is like. Gill is not afraid to admit how distracting everything can be. A less-experienced musical artist might struggle. With Gill, you'd never know he was having any concerns. He is a pro.

Still, his comments are something to remember for any fan going to a show, no matter who they see. Every artist will have some difficulties with all the chaos surrounding them. It's unusual. It's great for the public, but might not be easy for the band or solo performer.
