The 2025 NFL season is almost here, and Zach Bryan is back to proclaiming his loyalty to one team while disrespecting the fans of another. In other words, Bryan is the worst kind of fan. Kansas City Chiefs fans will not be happy about it.
Earlier this year, the Chiefs and Bryan's beloved Philadelphia Eagles played in the Super Bowl, and Kansas City lost. Badly. And though it's only the preseason currently, the country singer took to social media recently to antagonize Chiefs fans by asking, "Where are all the three peat people from last year:/"
The lack of quality punctuation in the tweet might be key to Bryan's state of mind at the time of the post. It would not be the first time he was not in complete control of his faculties while posting somewhat controversial thoughts.
Zach Bryan unnecessarily takes aim on Kansas City Chiefs fans
Many fans will post their thoughts about their own teams on social media. For a person like Zach Bryan to send a tweet as he did, that speaks of someone in need of a hug. He knew he would get attention from what he said, and purposely tried to upset a fanbase that isn't his or his favorite team's is just shallow.
Of course, the pushback from Chiefs fans was great. One pointed out that KC has won more Super Bowls in the last five years than Philly has won in the franchise's history. But like many fans, Bryan likely did not care about such facts. He probably can only see things with a recency bias.
But it got worse. One X handle said that Bryan wanted to "single out" Chiefs fans who sell out his concerts. To this, Bryan said he would never play in Kansas City.
Please understand I will never play in Kansas City https://t.co/VicevXBjda

Again, Bryan seemed to struggle with his long-term memory in the situation. He played in KC as recently as 2021, 2023, and 2024. (For those keeping score at home, that was only last year.) Maybe Bryan meant he would never play in Kansas City again, but it's difficult to believe he will keep that promise.
Of course, Bryan has no real reason to like the Eagles other than he partly grew up in a place (he was born in Japan as his parents were stationed there while they were part of the Navy, and the family moved to Oklahoma when Bryan was in middle school) that did not have an NFL team in the state. He had to choose some team, one assumes.
Zach Bryan temporarily deactivated his X account in 2024 after he admittedly drunkenly created a controversial tweet involving the most famous Kansas City Chiefs fan in the world, Taylor Swift, and compared her to Kanye West. The country singer got so much pushback from Swifties that he was forced to apologize.
