Britney Spears is out in the world doing Britney Spears things. She dances on social media, has mix-ups at restaurants, and seems absent-mindedly having a lot of fun. Who can blame her? She's not had the easiest life.
That might sound odd, as she has been commercially successful when making music, but then she could not access all her funds for years. Many might assume she did the best she could with what she had.
But still, she can sometimes do silly things and have illogical reasons for doing so. Her most recent interesting situation has caused her to apologize. On a charter flight on May 22, she lit a cigarette after a friend had placed the cigarette in her mouth and lit it.
Britney Spears has a seemingly ridiculous reason for her latest public fiasco
Spears's reason for thinking it was OK to smoke on the flight seems to be that the drink holders were on the outside of the seats. While this was true on the flight she was on, it still has little to do with smoking.
On some charter flights, smoking is allowed but only if the owner of the plane is fine with it, and the crew still follows FAA rules if passengers have lit cigarettes. The flight Spears was on did not allow smoking.
Spears posted a photo on social media after the plane landed, and after she was met by authorities who issued her a warning, showing the drink holders on the outside of the seats. She wrote in part, "Some planes I’ve been on you can’t smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on outside of seat !!! Confession it was my first time drinking VODKA!!! I swear I felt so SMART!!!"
Maybe she was being intentionally ironic, but this isn't very likely. Unless someone on the crew reported her to authorities while the plane was in the air, the situation would have never been known. But Spears probably doesn't mind the free publicity.
The pop diva also has a biopic based on her memoir, The Woman in Me. There is no timeline for the movie's release, and the cast is not known at this time.
