NFL halftime shows have come a long way. Even the Super Bowl used to have marching bands play. No offense to bands like that, but it feels a bit too high school for a championship game featuring professional football players. Fans won't have that worry when the Seattle Seahawks play the San Francisco 49ers.
The Divisional Round game will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 5 pm PT at Lumen Field in Seattle, and instead of one of the many Seattle-area icons playing (like Pearl Jam, for instance), the NFL will have Lil Jon perform. He's a safe bet to do well.
After all, this coming halftime will not be Lil Jon's first. In fact, he performed at a Seahawks game earlier this season when the team played the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, AZ. Seattle won the game, so maybe 12s feel the hip-hop icon will bring a bit of good luck.

The rapper also played the 2025 Thanksgiving game in Baltimore when the Cincinnati Bengals played the Ravens. He was also part of Usher's halftime concert at Super Bowl LVIII in 2024 when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the 49ers.
That means that Lil Jon has done one Seahawks game that Seattle won, but one 49ers game when San Francisco lost. If people want to place money on what will happen in the Divisional Round based on meaningless history, one need look no further than that last sentence.
Of course, Lil Jon doesn't throw or catch passes or make tackles, so his presence doesn't really have anything to do with the game, other than the league knows the hip-hop artist will understand what he needs to do in a short amount of time.
His performance in Week 4 between Seattle and Arizona was not featured on the broadcast, but his Thanksgiving gig was. The expectation is that if a music fan wants to bypass the first half of the Seahawks against the 49ers, the fan should still be able to see at least some of Lil Jon doing songs such as "Get Low" and "Turn Down for What."
The game between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers will be shown by FOX, and one can stream it on the FOX Sports app. Just wait an hour and a half after the 5 pm PT kickoff if you want to see Lil Jon but not any of the football. That is your choice.
