Noel and Liam Gallagher have never been shy about showing their love for Manchester City football. When Pep Guardiola, who is stepping down as manager of the English Premier League team after 10 years, first joined the team in July 2016, his first interview was with Noel, the guitarist from the Mancunian band, Oasis, of course.
Liam won't be the last to say anything positive about Guardiola's reign with Man City, but he was quick to offer his input on the news that the manager was leaving. Instead of issuing a sad tribute, Liam Gallagher tweeted like the rock star he is.
The singer wrote, "HE CAME HE CONQUERED LONG LIVE THE KING THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD TIMES PEP MCFC CTID LG x."
Oasis' Liam Gallagher drops a shoutout to outgoing Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola
While Liam is the more outspoken on social media, Noel Gallagher was the more seen at Man City matches. He was there often enough that Oasis fans weren't going to get in the way of him enjoying what he was watching. After all, Noel was a fan just like they were.

And to be sure, Pep Guardiola definitely brought a lot of joy to Etihad Stadium. In his years at the helm, the 55-year-old manager led his squad to six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, five League Cups, and the Champions League crown in 2023. That kind of success might be impossible for the club to replicate, though rumors swirl that he will be replaced by his former assistant, Enzo Maresca.
None of that likely means much to the members of Oasis currently, of course. While Manchester City has won loads of matches and titles since 2016, the club won't be winning the Premier League for the second straight season. This is the only two-year run when Guardiola has been in charge, the team hasn't won the EPL. This season, Man City will finish second.
While Pep Guardiola leaves, one thing is certainly going to stay the same. Liam and Noel Gallagher will keep tweeting and showing up at Etihad Stadium, hoping the team they grew up rooting for keeps winning titles. Those might not come in bunches as they did with Guardiola, though.
The next step for the manager, according to Manchester City's official website, is to continue working with the club "by taking up a role as a Global Ambassador. The role will see him giving technical advice to the clubs in the group, working on specific projects and collaborations."
In other words, while Guardiola won't be managing the English Premier League team, he isn't completely going away. That might only happen when he gets an official exit interview with Noel Gallagher.
