Morgan Wallen shows true colors in rude gesture about Charley Crockett

Just why, bro?

Morgan Wallen is an enigma. You either love him or find him offensive. Or, maybe, you simply don't know who he is because he performs country music, and that is not a genre you listen to. Specifically, pop country, which is a terrible and empty genre.

Still, Wallen makes a wonderful living out of creating songs that fit. They are non-offensive. Do they speak to the issues of the world? Not really. Can non-country lovers name a Wallen song? Probably not, and he is likely OK with that.

This is the same person who threw a chair off a story-high Nashville bar (who cares if someone might be below on the busy street, right?) and left the Saturday Night Live stage as goodbyes were being said, and then posted he wanted to get back to "God's country."

Morgan Wallen does the most Morgan Wallen thing by flipping off Charley Crockett

Morgan Wallen knows how to play to his base in the basest of ways. High brown he isn't.

In a recent concert in Toronto, Canada, not the most conservative of cities, but likely most of the audience bought into Wallen's strategy of seemingly being uncaring while caring mostly about those who buy his records, which gives him a rich life, Wallen clearly flipped his middle finger at a shirt worn by Gavin Adcock.

By the way, if you don't know who Adcock is, you aren't missing much. He is a contemporary country music artist (whatever that is), and with his sunglasses on, looks a bit like a much less talented Waylon Jennings.

Still, Adcock came out onto the stage with Wallen wearing a Charley Crockett shirt, and it was at the shirt that Wallen flipped the bird. You see, Adcock and Crockett appear to have a feud about what authentic country music is. Something to keep in mind is that Adcock is white and Crockett is Black.

Wallen likely sides with Adcock because Crockett recently posted on Instagram that Beyoncé is fine, and that the issue with country music is that for a quarter of a century, the genre has been stuck in "bro country." He also alluded to Morgan Wallen as the "No. 1 country artist" who listened to nothing but rap.

To be clear, there are racial underpinnings to all of this. We won't get into that here, but it's all too obvious. Morgan Wallen has chosen sides, though. He flips Charley Crockett off while asking some person named Gavin Adcock to tour with him.
