Music News: Full album release schedule for December
By Lee Vowell
With Christmas time descending upon us with great speed, most of the albums on one's shopping list might already have been released. December is not the month where one is going to find a lot of new records. There might still be some gems, though.
Also, if you are one who loves live albums, there are going to be a number of those. Maybe you could even add them to your Christmas list, though you should have already made that list by now. Why are you making people wait?
One hip-hop GOAT has a new album coming out, so that's a win. Plus, because there isn't much new music, we included a couple of January teases here, too. Surely, since you love music, there will be something that interests you in December's releases.
Full album release schedule for December
December 6
Angel Olsen - Cosmic Waves Volume 1
Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal
Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa Live From The Royal Albert Hall
Interpol - Live at Third Man Records
Lauren Mayberry - Vicious Creature
Lucinda Williams - Lucinda Williams Sings The Beatles From Abbey Road
Rosé - rosie
White Denim - 12
As you can see from the list above, there are going to be few "new" albums coming out in December. This is because people have already been buying Christmas gifts and albums released in December get pushed down on the list of priorities. Still, if you have a Dua Lipa fan on your shopping list (or perhaps Lucinda Williams), these albums might be must-haves for them.
December 13
Saint Etienne - The Night
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre - Missionary
The National - Rome
There is good and bad here. Well, all the music is probably good, but The National album is a live EP and not a collection of new songs. The Snoop Dogg record is new, though, and has been in the works since 2022 and was produced by Dre.
Of course, the record is going to have lots of guest stars. These include Dre (of course!), Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Jelly Roll, Tom Petty (seriously), and Sting (again, seriously). The album should be dynamite.
January 8
Ethel Cain - Perverts
Since there are not a lot of records being released in December, let's give you some bonus ones that are quite exciting. Cain's new album has already produced the single, "Punish," and it is amazing. The rest of the album probably will be more of Cain's classic Southern Gothic with a big dash of metal archetypes.
January 10
Franz Ferdinand - The Human Fear
Franz Ferdinand is releasing their first album since 2018's Always Ascending. The album was recorded in Scotland, and the songs are based on feeling alive because of things one fears. Should be fun!
