Justin Timberlake's slip-up creates perfect photo op for Britney Spears
By Lee Vowell
One thing is not funny. The other is. The first part has to deal with Justin Timberlake, star of stage and screen (and music, of course) reportedly being arrested for driving "in an intoxicated condition," according to the Sag Harbor (New York) Police Department. DWI or DUI is not funny, first of all. Don't do it. You might hurt yourself and/or others.
The other part of the story is the perfect coincidence of Britney Spears posting a photo of a martini on her Instagram account on the same day as Timberlake's arrest. The connection, in case you did not know, was that Timberlake and Spears dated in the early 2000s. Both were young pop stars, and both went their separate ways.
Were there ill feelings between the two? Likely. Does Spears still harbor some anger? Also likely. That is at least based on Spears' social media post.
Britney Spears seemingly throws a bit of shade at Justin Timberlake's sad drama
Not only did Spears happen to post a photo of a martini the day Timberlake was arrested, but she also captioned it by writing, "It's the little things you know." This could be taken in a lot of different ways. One might interpret Spears' post as a small victory as she still feels jilted by Timberlake.
Sure, taking advantage of one's misfortunes is never nice, but when one might be throwing a bit of shade at a former partner who may or may not have left one partner with emptiness, it's kind of OK, right? A little anger, unless physical, never hurt anyone. Britney Spears has surely felt a larger percentage of hate thrown her way than many others so her response is logical.
To be fair, Spears also was seemingly on vacation in Las Vegas as she later posted a video of her trying on cocktail dresses. Nothing is ever done without some kind of celebrity karma, though; at least, not in that kind of realm. We can all assume Spears was completely in control of her faculties when diving into Timberlake's new drama. We can laugh at one, but likely not the other.
