Porno for Pyros have found a way to live in our consciousness for decades even though they really have not produced much music ever. Perry Ferrell and the band have only put out two studio albums and the last one was in 1996. Then the band didn't play live for years. And yet, still, we care.

Lucky for us, the band is going to produce a new EP in early 2024. This will correspond to the band's farewell tour as well. So while we have been missing Porno for Pyros for most of ever, we now know that will be also be missing them for the rest of ever too.

The first single of the EP can already be heard as it was released on November 16. "Aqua" is inspired by the dolphins that the band used to see when they were surfing in the 1990s. The track is everything you might want for a Porno for Pyros song: A bit of acoustic guitar, a pinch of bombast, and somehow overly fun.

Porno for Pyros say goodbye and Jason and Travis Kelce say "Merry Christmas!"

The band postponed their initial run of farewell shows, set to take place in late 2023, because they wanted to finish the EP. Now the EP appears to be done and will be released in February 2024. The farewell shows will start on February 13 and run through March 13.

In other fun news, Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason, have put out a Christmas song that is a reworking of the Pogues' "Fairytale of New York." The track is part of a second Christmas album put out by Philadelphia Eagles players Kelce, Lane Johnson, and Jordan Mailata called A Philly Special Christmas Special. Proceeds for the album go to help local charities in the Philadelphia area.

The song that Jason and Travis Kelce do is called "Fairytale of Philadelphia." To be fair, they sound pretty good. Sure, the production is first-class and that helps, but still. Travis and Jason Kelce are not going to outsell Taylor Swift anytime soon, but the track is top-10 on iTunes.
