What must it be like to be either Travis Kelce or Taylor Swift? Individually, they are both highly successful in their respective fields. They have both earned the accolades that come their way. Kelce through his play as a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and Swift for her music career. But together, they might be among the best-known couples in the world (the British royal family likely beats them globally - maybe).
But how Kelce was able to woo Swift, he is still not sure about. He was a guest on the New Heights podcast with comedian Lil Dicky on Wave Sports + Entertainment and Kelce did not mince words when he spoke about his relationship with the pop star. After all, Kelce was already well-known before he met Swift but after the two began dating, his name, image, and likeness are known in places that NFL football may not be.
Swift has a global reach whereas the NFL is still working on that. Maybe they could use Kelce more to sell their product since everyone understands he is a part of Taylor Swift's life. If people are already welcoming of Swift, they probably would be of Travis Kelce too.
Travis Kelce seems somewhat confused about how he began dating Taylor Swift
As far as how the two began dating, however, Kelce said on the podcast, "I don't know how I did it, because she wasn't into sports, so I don't know how the (expletive) I did it."
Originally, Kelce had tried to meet Swift at one of her concerts in July 2023, and on a previous episode of New Heights, Kelce explained his plan did not exactly work. He said, "(Swift) doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So, I was a little butt-hurt that I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her. I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number in it."
After that failed, Kelce called Swift out on a podcast and that got the attention of the performer. The two began a relationship soon after and as everyone seemingly knows, they are still together. Let's just hope Swift isn't writing a later album about how things did not end well.
