We can give credit to Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac for what Snoop Dogg has recently done. Reynolds and Mac (also known as McElhenney) bought a majority share of Welsh soccer team, Wrexham, in 2020, with the deal finalized in February 2021. When they purchased the club in 2021, they paid £2 million, and the club is now worth as much as £150 million.

In other words, money (and a lot of it) can be made by buying a team, especially a potentially underperforming one, in the English soccer pyramid. Snoop Dogg is great at making music, but he is an even better businessman. He knows what makes money and spends wisely.

Following in the path of Reynolds and Mac, Snoop has become a minority owner in another team from Wales, Swansea City. Like Wrexham, Swansea City plays in the second level of the second level of the pyramid, known as the Championship, and one level lower than the Premier League.

Snoop Dogg joins soccer great Luka Modric in recently investing in the club, which is majority owned by Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen. No amount was given when journalist Fabrizio Romano announced Snoop's buy-in. It might be small, but what he brings to the club is a large social media presence.

The hip-hop icon has nearly 200 million followers on social media. One way Mac and Reynolds were able to grow Wrexham, besides the team's success since the club was purchased, is through social media and the FX series, Welcome to Wrexham. That blueprint has clearly been successful, so Snoop being heavily involved in some kind of media project would not be surprising either.

That American and Canadian celebs are so heavily invested in both Championship teams in Wales should be a fun watch. They could trade friendly banter that makes news on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The rapper has already started their feud.

On July 14, before it was announced that Snoop Dogg had become a minority owner, the rapper helped unveil Swansea City's latest kit. In the Instagram post, Snoop Dogg and the club wrote, "Nuthin’ But A Wales Thang, the Jacks are ready. We’re the Pride of Wales," and then tagged Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham in the post.
