Steven Spielberg perfectly summed up Taylor Swift in just 7 words

He wasn't the only one.

On Thursday, Taylor Swift became the youngest woman ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The 36-year-old has certainly earned her way as a fantastic lyricist and made her musical bones by writing her songs from the beginning of her career.

Before she delivered an emotional speech that thanked her family and fans, film director Steven Spielberg did an introduction for her. Spielberg might have also summed up Swift excellently when he said, "Some Taylor knows us all too well."

That is an apt description of the way the singer-songwriter has connected with fans. She doesn't just produce self-serving songs without meaning. She can create gems by making her experience feel like our own, and, in fact, describing how we have felt about relationships with the words we couldn't find ourselves.

That is what a great songwriter does. And without a doubt, Swift's induction was completely worthy.

Besides Spielberg, rising star sombr also played a part in Swift's induction. The performer delivered excellent renditions of Swift's songs "Cardigan" and "Dear John."

When it was Swift's turn to speak, she did so with excellence and keen observations. More importantly, she delivered her comments with grace while being genuinely grateful. Her family chose to move from Pennsylvania to Nashville, Tennessee, after all, when she was still young so she could follow her dream of making music. A wiser move has never been made.

Swift also offered advice to young songwriters still weighing whether they want to try to reach a successful level in the music business, which few do. The newly inducted member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame said, "You really have to prioritize what you love, down to your very core. Because you’ll need that."

In other words, following a dream might not be easy, and it might feel impossible, but ultimately, the only person who can stop that person is themselves. Clearly, the world is happy that Taylor Swift and her family followed her dream. We have a vast number of great songs as proof of that.

Others inducted during the ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City included Alanis Morissette, who also needed to be in Toronto the following day as part of the music entertainment ahead of Canada's opening World Cup match, Kenny Loggins, and KISS members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.

There was no word about Swift meeting the guys from KISS and whether they decided to have a future collaboration together. That would be fun, though.
