Recently, the line-up for Houston’s Free Press Summer Fest was announced.
Eleanor Tinsley Park will again be alive with the 7th incarnation of this festival which includes some of music’s biggest names. The festival will be held June 6-7, 2015, so it’s bound to be one of the sweatiest experiences you could possibly have. Be on the lookout for some awkwardly dressed hipsters. Originally, this festival was organized to bring light to local talent around Houston, but it’s grown into its own monster.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the festival, their website sums up its purpose:
Free Press Summer Festival is a two day celebration of arts and music held in Houston’s beautiful Eleanor Tinsley Park. FPSF, as it is affectionately referred to by many of it’s fans, has had such world class artists as Jack White, Calvin Harris, Iggy Pop, Vampire Weekend, Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, Flaming Lips, Lauren Hill, and hundreds of others grace it’s stage. Held on the periphery of downtown along the sprawling Buffalo Bayou, FPSF’s unique blend of cityscape and natural environment create the perfect setting for it’s melange of visual and interactive arts, delicious local fare, and 6 stages of music to be enjoyed by it’s enthusiastic and diverse crowd.
Let’s be honest, that was way better than what I would have written. I mean, “a melange of visual and interactive arts”? Yeah.
