Welcome back to where our own personal musical tastes have a chance to collide: Singles Mingle. This week, everyone gives you their personal pick for what you should be paying more attention to.

Every Friday AudioPhix writers roundup to share our favorite audio-based entertainment from the week that was.

Typically, our song selections will explode your mind so don’t be shocked if… well… your mind is exploded. Here are some selections from a few of our esteemed writers for your audio pleasure.

Joy Williams – “Woman (Oh Mama)”

This is nothing that Joy Willams fans from The Civil Wars will expect. Being a lifelong music fan, and a fan from the moment that The Civil Wars set their separate was..it absolutely changed my life. Joy does not disappoint on her first solo single since parting from her group. At parts it sounds like is a party anthem, but at the end…..she absolutely shows fans she still has her chops; regardless of being sans John Paul White. Stepping out as a solo act can be extremely hard for artists to overcome…especially since her fame shot to the top with their Grammy nominations and many accolades from industry famed critics.

Keep on the look out for more releases from this trained, and industry staple. She will be here for years to come; trust me on this.

Enjoy.
